Local pizza chain US Pizza to rebrand as Kita Pizza to show support for Palestine

KUALA LUMPUR: In solidarity with the Palestinian cause, a local pizza chain, currently known as US Pizza, plans to rebrand as Kita Pizza.

The pizza chain in a post on social media said they would change their current name US Pizza to Kita Pizza if they received 10,000 likes and comments on the posting.

The posting which was posted two days ago has so far garnered 2,600 likes and 618 comments.Scouring through the comments, many Malaysians however suggested MY Pizza as a better substitute.

“My Pizza is better,” said Fariq Azad.Echoing his comment was Facebook user Browny Adam.

“My Pizza. Kita Pizza sounds like “rojak”,” he said.US Pizza was reported to have started its humble beginning in Penang in 1997.

The pizza chain, owned by Jeremy Hiew has since grown to more than 100-outlet chains including in Indonesia.
